Week 1: Watercolors and Drawing
(1st Art Camp, June 16th-20th)
Explore the world of art through the lens of shadow drawing and watercolors. During this week of camp, your child will learn a variety of art techniques related to pencil drawing, tracing, shadow art, and watercolor, and, through using these techniques, complete several projects that they will be taking home with them. Of course, no art camp would be complete without the chance to practice free expression! Throughout this week, your child will be given the opportunity to develop who they are as an artist, in their own unique way – by being given access to a variety of art supplies that they may use (with guidance!) as they see fit. Come draw and paint with us!
Taught by: Mrs. Poweska and Mrs. Higginbotham
Week 2: Super Science Camp
(June 23rd-27th)
From slime to volcanoes to crazy experiments with rockets and sand, and candy, come explore the world of science with us as we delve into doing all the messy things that you do not want your child doing at home! During this week at camp, we will be learning science through hands-on activities that will stimulate your child’s mind and help them develop a curiosity about the world around them, and we will be having so much fun! Science is cool! Let’s learn it together!
Taught by: Mrs. Poweska and Mrs. Higginbotham
Week 3: Eclectic Art
(2nd Art Camp, July 7th-11th)
Explore the world of art by spending a week in our eclectic art camp. What better way to develop imagination and creativity than to do art your way? During this week of camp, we will be exploring a variety of art techniques (like using salt, collages, marbling, and splatter painting) in teacher-guided projects, however, campers will spend lots of time creating their own brand of art by using free expression. Come create with us!
Taught by: Mrs. Poweska and Mrs. Higginbotham
Week 4: Games! Games! Games!
(July 14th-18th)
No summer is complete without a week of good old-fashioned gameplay. Campers will enjoy playing outdoor camping games like Big Ball or Parachute or Bridge Tag, and more standard games like Kickball and Catch-Volleyball. Inside, when the weather is too hot, they will enjoy creating box mazes or marble runs or learning a new board game with a friend. So bring a friend- or make some new ones! -and spend a week having fun and socializing while also exercising our bodies and minds during a week of games!
Taught by: Mrs. Poweska and Mrs. Higginbotham
